Ward 9 is facing a sticker campaign for State Rep. in the September Primary

State Representative Rachel Kaprielian rsigned as State Rep. to accept the position of Registrar of Motor Vehicles. Her resignation came too late for other candidates to file nomination papers for the position.
At a caucus in May, the Watertown Democratic Town Committee defeated a Ward 9 motion to elect a replacement (as allowed by Massachusetts law) and so no alternate candidate will be on the primary ballot. Three Watertown people have indicated they plan to run for the position in sticker campaigns.

Ward 9 will hold a Candidate Forum on Monday, August 4th, at the Tobin School beginning with informal mingling at 6:30 p.m. The Forum begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. Andrea Kramer moderates.

What is the Ward 9 Committee?

We are your neighbors. We see as our mission to elect Democrats to every level of government.

We seek to encourage the community's participation in civic affairs, embracing government as the community itself.

Our goal is to create a grassroots organization that can act decisively to elect Democrats in Ward 9 and

to enlarge the scope of our participation when needed to elect Democrats in other locales.

We are represented at the State House by Rep. Rachel Kaprielian, Sen. Anthony Galluccio (precinct 1) and Sen. Steven Tolman (precincts 2 and 3).
