Campaigns represent the heart of our work as a grassroots political party. We leverage talented volunteer organizers and a strong base of supporters to reach marginal voters – disproportionately young and poor – and turn them out to support Democratic candidates.

In 2010, we mounted a massive get-out-the-vote campaign for Deval Patrick and the Democratic ticket. Using CDCC funds, we opened campaign offices in North Cambridge, Harvard Square, and Central Square. On Election Day, alone we deployed more than 500 volunteers and knocked on 16,000 doors. Deval Patrick carried Cambridge in a 7-to-1 landslide, and with an increased margin from 2006.

In 2012, we will use direct, neighbor-to-neighbor personal contact to register and turn out thousands of new and marginal voters to reelect the President and elect a Democratic US Senator. Cambridge, with its progressive and transient population, represents a critical community in this work. In addition, we will support the Obama campaign nationally by arranging transportation to New Hampshire for volunteers and sending our talented organizers to swing states across the country.
